These ATM call have high delta and must be relatively expensive. If you want to benefit from these stocks moving up (that's assuming you are long), there are better ways IMO...

If you want to lock in some profits but you want to stay in those options. You could sell further out of the money calls to take advantage of the high vol. Giving you a bull call spread.

Actually not a bad idea. Especially if the guys says he has owned them for a long time, maybe one can find a higher strike that will pay back the same amount he bought them for originally. Playing with other people's money is always a good idea! In that case you don't need to worry about a _temporary? - correction
