Go back to the 1960s and 1970s and read what conservatives had to say about the sexual revolution. They said this would lead to a morally bankrupt society and would destroy the American family.

In all fairness technology cannot be exonerated from helping foment maladaptive behaviors and trends in society.
Priests molesting boys and up-tight conservatives getting themselves all in a lather over nothing, still. They never learn. Accepting new knowledge is not something they do very well.
