Conquering trading anxiety

Quote from HATEtheRisk:

That shows clearly that you are not long enough in the business, to understand what we are saying.

Even with the best edge in the world, you must fear the risk like the fire of hell.

Because proffessional traders know, that the markets do not care about their edge, and it can happen EVERYTING all the time.

There could be a electricity blackout and you could not even call your broker, to check your position --- while you the fuck have a huge position on and you have no way to control it......well and just so how the destiny plays sometimes, right in that moment, some crazy news coming out and turn the markets around, and your edge is worth shit.........

FEAR is the only thing what you can have for sure on every trade, it keeps you away from losing to much.

Print my words out and put it on your fridge and read it 100 times a day, maybe then you understand it.:cool: :cool: :cool:
Uh, no. That is not an edge. That is poor risk management.

Perhaps I have a different mindset, as I trade 100% automated. Every trade I make has an expected value based on statistics. Over time, a few bad trades, for whatever reason, become noise in the long run. I have measures in place to limit losses.

Your point about an electricity blackout (any technical problem) is well taken. Redundancy is the key.

Do you have any trading mindset ,if you trade automatically?

Quote from bone:

Not when you think that you can make 4% per day scalping.

Why do you start these threads, and then completely ignore or discount the advice proferred ?

Some of the the advice is very good and used , but some advice needs to be filtered and ignored as it does not fit my mindset/personal psychology.

Every trader has his own biases and traits and view of trading , he picks and chooses what to use.

The 4 % is an entertainment thread to refresh things , it has knowledge benefits.

Quote from oilfxpro:

I really would like to understand how stress and anxiety affects trading .Sometimes anxiety prevents a trader from being profitable ,sometimes stress hormones affect decision making eg those panic attacks to cut profits shorts or cut good trades is all psychological errors.

Most rule based programs fail because the rules for market conditions change regularly.
=====================
Opro;
The way , and or % size most of us traded ,while learning;
our heads & hearts were right to be afraid.

For example to [a] confuse trading trends with trading noise,
confuse a bull or bear market ;
[c]that should cause fear :D
