Of course not, I think it's unfortunate. Having a climate without many extremes is going to draw homeless people there as well as people who can afford the housing.

Horseshit. Plenty of cities that do just fine and are balanced with economic output and living conditions. What we're talking about is cities where the shit literally runs down the streets in a cesspool. There is real difference between LA, Seattle, San Fran, NY, and then looking at Houston, Atlanta, Miami, or Phoenix.
