I would recommend practicing in your private life. Try taking something you enjoy and limit it to a predetermined time.
Take a food or drink you enjoy and set some rules around it and live by them. Try it with an exercise program or watching TV. Make a set of rules around some activity and practice. You need to experience and accept denial.
