You have it exactly backwards. No one gives a hoot what Brennan has to say except that he was CIA Director. He is using his former status to make a ton of money and as a platform to make irresponsible attacks on the current administration. Letting him retain any indicia of his former service would be seen as tacit approval of his attacks.
Let's be honest here. Brennan's entire career could use a full investigation. He was the agency's station chief in Riyadh, where it is rumored he converted to islam. He then was head of antiterrorism. He never put anything about the 9/11 plot together, even though the evidence was so obvious that a low level FBI agent in Minneapolis picked up on it. His buddies at the Saudi embassy were in contact with the terrorists and even gave them money. Somehow this master spymaster missed every bit of it.
Ok. I guess the overlords on the moon decided bin Laden was too much of a liability when they greenlit Brennan to be the point person on the operation that killed him.
