Computer fan too noisey......continually runs at high speed?

1. As was previously mentioned I too on occasion (like when I'm moving shit around) will split open the case and thoroughly blow it out with compressed air. I'll hit the McIntosh tube amps at the same time. Then I'll terrorize the dogs.
2. Bios has nothing to do with it.
3. d08 is correct - if a HDD is on the fritz you'll get a SMART message. Image your entire HDD immediately and make fresh repair / start up discs/thumbs. If you delay replacing a failing HDD the sectors get bad and your backup images become corrupted and frequently non-repairable - which could make replicating your existing drive onto a new drive difficult. Heed the message !
4. Cooling fans don't get better. They will start to sound like a Harrier Jump Jet taxiing for take-off. The armature bearing is bad and it just gets worst. Order a new one. The annoyance and distraction is just not worth it. Try Amazon.

I had a noisy fan once. Used speedfan software to control it. just ran fan all the time at low speeds.

Built about 10 PC's, I just found this out.
However, I also know that using just the right amount of compound is also important. How I hate to do this procedure...

I will never forget this vid I saw way back then. It made an impression. Especially after going through the Cyrix nightmare of the late 1990s, when CPU power was very very important in helping the GPU. AND EXPERIENCING THE SAME TYPE OF SHIT IN RL! I do not know how much hotter Intel chips have gotten since my last PC build, but my Intel-based machines have never over-heated, with a fan and thermal paste. Never a need to reapply the paste. EVER. They have been running forever.
For as long as PC's have been around, it is shocking we still have this problem.
They should all be flat pieces of glass that emit light.
