Thanks much RT....I am pretty psyched up about the whole thing. Could be really nice to work some order flow and not concern myself with p+l for a few years. at the very least it makes me more marketable! :)
 
I don't know what some of the B/D shops these posters have been talking about, but it would be interesting to actually name some names . . . Moreover, forget even trying to rationalize that there would not be a sexual harrassment issue due to the fact that there are no women at your firm. That's downright stupid.

I sincerely doubt that your high-powered equity derivative desks at Morgan Stanley, Deutsche Bank, Goldman Sachs, Lehman Brothers, or Bear Stearns allow such activity as cruising internet "porn" sites, especially in today's cost conscious investment banking department. I have several friends at the above mentioned firms and from the minute they walk in the door, its ALL business!

Besides, a lot of MD's are simply looking for an "excuse" to cut headcount even further . . . Why even allow them the chance with stupid behavior?

You are monitored from the moment you come in the door: in trading rooms at large financial companies most people are not allowed to access the internet. A few are and those that are allowed have every request logged through a proxy server with the logs reviewed perhaps daily. Go to a porn site or even a shopping site and you will be escorted from the building .....

Small shop, 7 guys in the whole org 3 in the headquarters and they surf more porn than I ever had. So yes I can say with 100% certainty that a sexual harassment suit will NEVER happen.

Ebo, I understand that. Hell I hardly looked at it at all during the day. Now with the new gig it is a definite no-no. Way to much going on to concern myself with anything but the mkt from 9-4. Once again I thank everyone who gave me insight and there honest opinions...
