Good reasons. What I meant was the slot-machine-like poker at the casinos where you are playing on a machine as opposed to against other people.

As a beginner, the video-poker was pretty good training to me I think in which cards to hold or discard.

Now when I play with human players, I might hold a King and a pair of fours, thanks to my training on Jacks-Or-Better.

Also, to explain the popularity, when you can play 4-line, so you have four separate chances to win with the same held cards, it seems fun.

I can say what "poker" game is the most difficult to WIN at....beyond a doubt -- Caribbean Stud...the all time sucker casino game.

At least in online casinos, there are worse sucker games than Caribbean Stud. Of course, a lot depends on which online casino, as some of them are decent and some of them are rip-offs.
hint: check out the payouts on the Roulette table. If the payout on winning a half-bet like 1-18 or Even or Red is 1:1, it's a rip-off, and be wary of playing any other games on that casino too.

How does one pick a table?

I have heard that there are video poker machines that are set to give a slight advantage to players who are trained to make the proper choices. There are folks who play these things for income, although I bet it's monotonous as hell.

I guess there needs to be a merry go round in every amusement park. Hold 'em is one of the big boy rides.

I kinda liked it...its definately more about being a gambler than poker itself. But TNT has a hoast of shows that wouldnt last a week on the networks but last there. Hope it stays around.
