I doubt anyone can, but I'd love to hear the explanation for the popularity of electronic poker
1. You can play any time you want, for an hour or for 10 hours.
2. You can play from home, no need to shower or even get out of your underwear if you like.
3. Most games allow you to keep specific notes on opponents. I can't do that at a live table.
4. I can do other stuff on the puter while playing, and some games allow me to play at two tables at once.
5. Many electronic games have tournament style qualifying and entry into the bigger real tourneys against pros.
6. While you can't see the players, you can watch games all you like and take notes on specific players. This allows you to find your marks so you can seek them out at later times when seats are available at their tables.
7. Newer folks can hone thier skills at play money tables.
Overall, I've done pretty well playing limit hold'em online. I like the smaller stakes tables because the players tend not to be as skilled and the money is easier. The rake ratio is also lower at most of the small pot games.
