One definition : "Racism is discrimination and prejudice towards people based on their race or ethnicity." Muslim is similar to any major religion, much like Jews were persecuted before and during WW2. If one persecutes Jews these days, a much less common activity these days, it isn't necessarily an attack against the state of Israel. Trump specifically signals out Muslims in his rhetoric. He didn't ban ALL citizens from the 7 countries, he specifically targeted ethnic groups. Some of his closest people were disturbed by the exact details of his order.
You may live in a bubble in the US but in Toronto our major paper one day had the entire second page discussing the worldwide condemnation of the policy because of how it targets a specific group of people simply because of their background or religion. The next day, we have the Muslim massacre in Quebec City where a deranged Canadian shot up a Muslim meeting. One can note he was a fan of Trump and a known internet troll. Not unlike numerous posters on here.
And I'm no snowflake, buddy. I think you are if you are upset with posts that label a racist policy exactly what it is. Here you are debating semantics rather then admitting that reality. Maybe if people posted less hate on here, it would be a more pleasant board.
