I know we are mid to late in the business cycle. However, I'm seeing headlines like this, saying companies are reluctant to spend.

Is there an economic precedent to this? I only see this type of news during the bottom of recessions, right before an upturn.

I would not equate fund managers with economy

large cash portions are actually good for markets as there is large uninvested pool that will chase markets even higher.
