Hewlett-Packard, Target and Schlumberger announced the biggest layoffs this year, while buying back large amounts of stock

There's something wrong with the U.S. economy. Such large scale jobs cuts while the economic data is pointing south is not normal.

Although this is probably not enough to cause a recession, it'll be a severe strain on the U.S. economy.
