regardless of how many casualties everyone had in WW2. When ObamaCare comes down the pipes and everyone gets laid off, almost all of the lower middle class will be dependent on the government, that is when 1 of 2 things will happen.

1. is we take another step further towards socialism. Everyone will be working for about 25k a year in mcdonalds and collect some sort of subsidy from uncle sam.

Or number 2, uncle sam gives no help...and that is when you turn into a country like mexico....which would be a wealth transfer, and 90 percent of the population is screwed.

Obviously your reading skills are lacking as I already explained why you have the services you have over there without the need (taxes) to pay for them. And don't lecture me on our political system. I've spent a decade on this forum ripping it apart. I'll cut you some slack if this is your first time down here, I've been down here a little longer.

I only prey we stop subsidizing Europe's defense so they can go broke just like we did trying to protect themselves. Although I have a feeling Europe wouldn't even try. They would just drop their pants, bend over and tell the Russians to be gentle. And having family who experienced just how gentle they are, I can tell you they are not.

Sounds like a utopia ... which is why I think it's so deceptive. I don't think you can have a productive society when you push down and stifle ability. There is no real incentive for doing anything. Communists are not morons, but they are completely deceived.

Liberals don't understand how wealth is created. Therefore, they support systems that destroy wealth. Voters from all political stripes don't understand how wealth is created, btw. That's why both the mainstream political left and right are decidedly huge Government statists, intent on regulating and taxing nearly every aspect of human existence. However, I don't really get what you're talking about. I am not defending anything, let alone China. I have stated a fact and asked a question. Are you disputing the veracity of the fact or are you answering the question? I don't see either in the above, but maybe I am missing something. What does my question have to do with corruption? And no, I won't agree on your one thing here. I don't claim that I know with certainty what's going on, but I sure as hell try to have a better idea than a lot of other people. I spend a lot of money and effort to have an idea, because my bottom line depends on it. So pls let's not do the whole "nobody knows" thing, 'cause that's just not going to get us anywhere.

Furthermore, no, if you haven't noticed, I am not trying to make an argument. I am trying to use the example of China to ask a question. The point of the question is to get an objective, specific definition of "communist".

And yes, Maverick, believe it or not, I do want to talk about. I have discussed similar subjects on this forum previously. Unlike yourself (I am guessing here), I have actually lived with "communism", so I am interested in this discussion. As to painkillers etc, I am sure that was humor that I just don't get again.

As an unrelated point, I love Caen and Normandy, more generally.

If anyone ever gets a chance to visit the Normandy beaches and the American cemetery, it's a haunting experience and more than worth it.
