Comments on eSignal 7.x and above

This has been posted before and I was wondering if it might be forthcoming?

Right now, Esignal can't include a seperate number, such as a cash component, in a spread. For example, ATH is buying WLP for 1 share of stock plus $23.80 in cash. The spread would be expressed like this in a chart:

(ATH + 23.80) - WLP

Esignal can't do this.

I concur. Anything other than NYSE is totally worthless.

You wouldn't need to bother and no one would care.

You can start now. A year from now the NYSE only daily data would be VERY valuable.

And again... WHY doesn't anyone else see this as a problem?

I gues that is why there are so many marginal traders out there. Many of them simply don't know what the heck they are doing.

I agree with Slave, Lescor and TonySD on all issues above.

I would Like exchange filtered NYSE data and the Ability to enter a spread chart with a constant as Lescor has described above.

I hope eSignal can work with us on these issues
 
Update on a few issues reported on this thread:

1. Single character regional stocks ( ex: S=N ) can't retrieve today's intraday data. Problem appears resolved in the latest version of the intraday tick server. Still in testing and we expect the new version to be rolled out across the farm by the end of the month, if not sooner.

2. Ability to factor a numeric number into a spread (ex: IBM - 7 ).
Expect to see this in 8.0, due out most likely in Q2 of next year. We are re-writing the quote window and greatly expanding the ability to write custom formulas and more excel-like calculations in both a chart and a quote window.

3. Daily regional data. Not something that we can immediately address but we are definitely exploring ways we could support this next year.

Yes, both the Advanced Get and eSignal scanners have been integrated in version 7.5 ( due out later this month ). Scans can be quickly saved and linked to a quote sheet. It's a great improvement over the browser based version.

In terms of further work on scanning, we're aiming for some new features to be added in the 8.0 series. Now that we have the scanners integrated, should be much easier to enhance their functionality.

Hmm this is what I was afraid of. Its not a dynamically updating window on its own(unlike QChart Hot lists). It's some sort of manual scan. Your product looks great otherwise.

clicking on upper left corner maximization tab.

I was hoping to be able to download data for use in TS, and Metastock. Is the extended data going to be available in this manner?
