What questions, so you said 2/10, still can't be done cause the firms have to make money. 100K a day in volume for .0035 all inclusive, not happening anywhere, unless you're in with the boss who doesn't care to make any money on you. Those rates given by Pointdirex and E-Group are all base rates and do not include ECN or DOT charges. I think this makes it clear for you. Now, let us all know where to get these rates!!!

The bottom line is that rates of .0035 exist. Especially for traders who have been trading for a long time. Tickerwatcher or whatever his name was a month or 2 ago went over this very well. He was even saying anyone interested could private message him. So i did to see if he was full of it, he wasn't. Everything he said was true. Another point i must make is that these rates do exist and can be had, but not every firm offers these and not the average firm.
The firm i am currently with is now giving me close to the same price so i don't see the need to switch. On the flip side i have to admit that i did fight lots for the deal i have. An experienced trader should be able to get these rates. My volume use to be around 50 - 60 thousand shares a day, but now down to average 40 thousand. The point i feel i have made several times is that i think the firms that make a little profit off of every trader are the ones that will make out best. The reason is i will probably stick with the firm for many years if they stay a tick ahead of the competition. Rates have probably come pretty close to hitting a bottom although i do not know for sure? And although i know you do not like hearing this Calibre, the lower the rates the better. My bullet rate is .015 cents per share.
Calibre you seem like a nice guy. I think your firm might be best for new traders because you offer decent training. This is something i do not need at the current time. (Although i always keep an open mind to points or ideas people give me). All i am trying to say is that maybe different people need different firms for different reasons. For me rates is the bottom line, as long as everything else is at least decent such as trading platform, software, execution speed etc...
And Calibre one other possible suggestion is why don't you yourself do some research on how these select firms are able to cut there costs to offer these rates? Maybe one day i can trade through your firm at these rates? The only time i ever call in is when my software goes down and i need to contact the trade desk to get out of a position. (This is rare)

I agree with you 100%!!!! You are a remote trader that is why they are able to offer you a cheaper deal, and like you said you had to fight for it. Remote traders are extremely cheap to maintain compared to an on site trader. So there is a huge cost differential between a remote and an on site trader. I don't disagree with you, cause you laid out exactly how you got the rate.

2/10 is done plenty of places. the problem with your situation if you dont mind me posting this (i read some of your other posts now so i'm more familiar with your situation) is that you're going through a broker who is then going through the clearing firm. you're like the third middleman after the brokerage firm and clearing house. That's why 2/10 seems low to you. For Hold 2/10 is not low at all! and to repeat myself for the umpteenth time, yes, my rate is .0035, all inclusive, I do ok volume, around 80-200 and no I'm not "in with the boss", people in this business will want to make money off you no matter if your his godson, there's no free lunch so that's not a myth. ETrade Professional's rate IS .0045 ALL INCLUSIVE, ON SITE, not a base rate, and it's for PROP AND RETAIL. If you want I'll give you the number of the guy who runs the group there and you can confirm it for yourself, Sorry about Pointdirex, I didn't check it out like you did. And, now you probably think I trade at Etrade pro, well, sorry bud, I don't. Why does it bug you so much where I trade? There's 3 or firms that self-clear, and I have friends at all these places getting rates around these levels.
Caliber, yes, I did have to fight for these rates, and that's exactly what I'm suggesting to other traders, fight for lower rates! Nobody's going to hand out free money.
what's billables? It includes everything except for SEC fees.
I went to the site and they want a $50,000 initial contribution and they don't post their rates. How is it possible to have .0035 all inclusive, if u use Island, Island charges .003.
I'm getting tired of this. first i didnt say .0035, i said .0045, second there's no 50,000 capital contribution, if you open retail, it's 30k min, otherwise, you put up 5-10k for prop. you can pm me if you want the phone # of the guy running the operation, or let me know if i'm allowed to post it on this thread and i'll do that.
