Coming to terms with my feelings. Long, sorry.

Quote from BSAM:

Honesty is so refreshing, especially in P&R.
Congrats, brother Riccie.
Thank you. Not the first time I've mentioned it, though. And my answer to Tsing, "I know precisely how you feel," was also honest.

Quote from Tsing Tao:

The givers are not rewarded in this society. Only the takers are. The deck is stacked against being responsible and giving. Thus, I would be stupid to continue doing it.

I am sorry you have decided to drown yourself in cynicism, and that you are hurting as badly as you say.

You've already began to emotionally exile family members for their views and beliefs. I will in no way try to say this wrong for you to do. Sometimes we, as humans, need to leave what we feel is not good for us, so that we can find peace and purpose, within our own niche in life.

I do wonder, if you may have children though. If so, you might ask yourself, 'Do I want to mold my son's/daughter's minds to think exactly as I would have them think? Or, do I correct them when they are wrong, provide them with love, give them the best advice I can when they need it, but then let them grow into individuals who may one day develop thoughts and views of their own?

If it's the latter, then please be aware of what you are setting yourself and your children up for; a bitter father, who despises the flesh he helped to create. Alienated children, who may never understand why their Dad stopped loving them.

I don't expect a response from you, and would prefer not to have one, if it's just to satisfy the need you have to become more cynical and insulting of others.

I only ask you to think it over.

Quote from Ricter:

The real issue here is that you're just as cocksure about your opinions as I am of mine, and you're just as energetically motivated to demonstrate to me that you're actually correct, just as I am to demonstrate that to you.

Yes, but I am only sure because I have done the research and provide evidence to support my assertions. Evidence, I might add, that you either choose not to dispute or cannot dispute. I don't know which, since you just run off.

Quote from Tsing Tao:

Only fools focused on the social aspect of this campaign and not the fiscal one. And Obama hasn't told "truth" on the fiscal side of things for a long time. All the way back to the 2008 video of him talking about how irresponsible it would be to raise the debt ceiling.

The foolish, as Ann Coulter has realized, is the group that picked such a ridiculous fight.

It was the GOP that went social. They chose this path, and once again got absolutely repudiated. Next time, they will leave the social issues alone, and focus on the debt. Or, they will get shellacked again...and again....and again.

The choice is theirs.

Quote from Mav88:

Every recession there has ever been could be called a demand shock,
That's wrong, there are Fed induced recessions to reverse inflation.

Quote from Mav88:

legislation like stimulus and health care is rammed down your throat in a purely partisan fashion, THEN calls for compromise are made....

That's only because "we have to pass the bills before we know what's in them."

I already tried to tell him, Hoof.

I too have done the research and provide evidence to support my assertions. I "run off", because of the futility of convincing you anyway. Which goes back to your expression of futility.

This is just more, "no, I'M right!"

Who is talking about alienating their children or stopping to love their children? Did you even read any of my posts?

Quote from BSAM:

Brother RCG, you should be careful about your current celebration.
Does that 16 trillion dollar debt not worry you?
How 'bout those four dead Americans in Benghazi and the subsequent coverup?
Is that not a problem for you?
Just tell the truth brother...just tell the truth.

Did I miss your reply, brother RCG?
