Coming to terms with my feelings. Long, sorry.

Quote from Spike Trader:

But how can you cut off ties with your own mother?

If my mother is voting against the future of my son, and not willing to listen why, then this is an easy logical decision. Remember, logic. Not emotion.

Get a freakin' grip. Not seeing your mother because of how she voted? What about turning the other cheek? What about forgiving those who trespass against us? If you really are the good man you profess to be you should act like it. Put aside your ego that you have invested into politics perhaps too much.

Quote from Tsing Tao:

I can no longer afford to take the moral high ground on decisions made. Being a responsible citizen no longer pays off. The only who will prosper in this nation are those who are net takers.

I will no longer buy what I can get for free.
Society is now changed. At one time it was beneath dignity to take Government help, to subject a child to a young poor uneducated mother and to despise the successful.

Now it is proper to suck off the tit of Government. This is the new morality.

On the bright side, the economy is going to burn to a crisp over the next 4 years,

LOL, Max. Thanks, mate. This one comment made me giggle, and I needed that. I agree with you.

Quote from PHOENIX TRADING:

Status post your epiphany about the consequences of the election.

Honestly concerning our little tift over the disposition of RCG awhile back who do you think was more accurate: you or myself?

btw: Congratulations in pop psychology it's called a "wake -up call "

Remind me what our tiff was concerning RCG.

Quote from TheDudeofLife:

I think that the best thing to do is to just go underground and try not to care. Caring will hurt too much. If you are over 60 you can take solace in the fact that you won't have to live in the bad times too long and that you got to live a lot of time when America was "America".

I'm not close to 60, but this is precisely my thought process. I don't have a problem turning off "caring".

Quote from Tsing Tao:

I appreciate that compliment. I intend to work to improve that aspect as well. Thank you for helping me add to my list. A meaner, angrier Tsing is just what the doctor ordered.

Tsing, you asked why liberals voted for Obama. Well I know there are different stripes of liberals, so here is one liberal whom, as you had very specific reasons for voting this way.

The GOP for some horrible reason turned this thing into a social fight, or nearly civil rights proportions. People waited in line for 8 hours to oust Romney because they really and truly felt that Mittens was trying to drag us into an abyss.....

This will be long Tsing, but watch it. I know you will. You are a thoughtful guy, check it out.

Quote from Tsing Tao:

I want nothing from you, Ricter. In the past, I wanted you to re-engage because you offered some interesting points of view (occasionally). But your actions in removing me from ignore now, after it is most beneficial to you, clearly speak volumes about your intent. Besides, I no longer have it in me to compromise on anything, any longer. Not with you, not with anyone.

Now that you've finally taken me off ignore, I no longer want it. Bizarre, isn't it? So do whatever it is you want.
Fair enough. I feel for you, your sense of deep isolation right now. Nothing you've ever said here makes you deserve that.

Quote from Tsing Tao:

The givers are not rewarded in this society. Only the takers are. The deck is stacked against being responsible and giving. Thus, I would be stupid to continue doing it.

The rewards I'm talking about are not monetary in nature. It ain't all about the dollar all day every day. Conducting your affairs with nothing but cold hard logic will leave you empty down the road. Just my own experience. Perhaps yours will be different. I wish you well in your personal and professional endeavors.

Lucky for you its just your mother...my wife voted away the future of my children. Contemplating divorce, but for now its cheaper to keep her.
