You go out of your way to mention that he's trent lott's brother in law in your previous post and then you pretend that it's small of me to correct the record about which side his allegiance is really on.
And just how do you know he's a yellow dog democrat? Simply because he's a crook and you don't like to push him as far away as possible from you?
The guy is on your team and he's a crook.
And john Kerry is clown that used a scratch to get a medal in viet nam and then lied about his fellow soldiers when he got back. I just thought I'd throw that in for good measure.
I don't want to be condescending and I don't want to be rude, so please do not make me. 1. Again, my post had nothing to do with political parties; 2. And this is just for your own information. It has nothing to do with my post. Scruggs is of a generation when in the Deep South there was a transition not between political sentiment but between one's political affiliation. In previous generations, after the civil war, Deep South, white males virtually all voted for Senators and Representatives running nominally as Democrats. With the passing of time and movement of the Republican Party further to the right, once they got to Washington, these Deep South "Democrats", voted for the most part, with conservative Republicans! In Scrugg's generation there was a slow transition of white, Deep South politicians from the Democratic Party where they really did not belong, to the Republican Party. Voting Republican became more acceptable socially among the white, deep South population. On the other hand, Deep South Blacks previously voted almost entirely Republican though their interests lay, again with the passage of time, more with the Democrats. They also slowly transitioned, but to the Democratic Party.
Those of Scruggs generation generally continued to call themselves Democrats, but more and more when they got into the voting booth they actually voted Republican. The transformation of the white Politician's official affiliation from Democratic Party to Republican Party during that Generation, i.e., the Scruggs-Lott generation, was in recognition of that reality. I hope this helps explain Deep South politics. Today, Deep South whites vote quite solidly Republican, and Deep South Blacks vote quite solidly Democrat. The old ways die hard, nevertheless, and some of the older generation, Black and White, continue to refer to themselves as Republicans and Democrats, respectively. All of this nonsense has to do of course with Lincoln Freeing the slaves and Lincoln being a Republican.

N.B.: The Deep South is Louisiana, Alabama, Georgia, and Mississippi. A few other States are backwards enough in rural areas to be considered honorary Deep South States. You can't get any further South than Mississippi, even though you travel all the way to Tierra del Fuego.
