The worldwide Left has been building a coalition of muslims and socialists for a very long time. In the USSR muslims were volunteer secret police. They suppressed christians that hated communism. Evidence of this is seen in the fact that when the USSR unraveled and the muzzies had no protection from the federal state, the Serbs came out fighting and then Bill Clinton intervened on the side of the muzzies. Now the world is divided between the Left-muzzies and the rest of us. Russians are not qualified to join a socialist-muzzie coalition because they've seen socialism and they don't want it. I have to respectfully disagree with some of what you said. The modern American based Left/Social Justice Crowd champions the Muslims because they are foreigner immigrants and the majority of them have brown skin. The SJW Left see everything through the lens of race and racism. I doubt that social justice motivated the USSR to partner with muslims back in the day. I don't doubt what you are saying was true in the USSR, I just disagree with the correlation of motivations both past and present.
As far as the Left being anti-christian, well they give Muslims a pass on their beliefs because being a "victim" and having brown skin gives them a free pass in the social justice oppression index.

This is a complex case. Imagine a river flowing between and among three, or possibly four, countries with many tributaries. It requires knowledge of international law as well as U.S. law. In New York , Schneiderman is handling the Manafort end of it. It's unclear who is handling the Trump end. maybe no one since Bharara was fired, but someone will take over. It will likely be months before we get much detail. But when we do the case will unravel quickly. The Kushners are almost certainly involved as well. These are the investigations that threaten Trump. Not the Russian Hacking investigation, which if it has any connection at all is just peripheral.

What if a Russian Oligarch with ill gotten gains wanted to move his illegal money via a Cyprus bank to U.S. real estate and he was willing to pay up to double the market value for help in covering up some unsavory details of the transaction; for, shall we say, smiles all around the table at the closing?

But, pay double for what? A house or CRE? If it was CRE, everyone in the industry would know about the over-market purchase price. If it was a house or condo, do you really think that on a relative basis that sort of money is worth the risk to a billionaire? Everything is about risk/reward. To take on the type of risk you are talking about, the gain would most likely have to be large and a large gain is hard to hide especially in real estate. Also, as I previously stated, banks would most likely have to be involved. So, at the end of the day, most likely all that would happen would be a slap on the wrist to some bank. I could be wrong but we will see. The libtard MSM will obviously put this on a loop if it is at all true and brought to light.
Also, ill gotten gains has a very different definition in Russia than it does in the US. In Russia, there really isn't ill gotten unless you screwed over Putin to make the money. The reason Russian oligarchs keep money in places like Cypress and offshore is the exact same reason Apple keeps money offshore. Furthermore, Russian oligarchs move money to the US for the same reason Chinese move money to the US.

If you or I were a billionaire, the way we think, no, of course not. But Trump or other mentally unbalanced billionaires yes. They can't get enough. Trump loves to talk about how rich he is. Does Buffett talk about how rich he is? Does Soros talk about how rich he is? Does Gates talk about how rich he is? But Trump, that's what's important to him.
In Mississippi, we have Dickie Scruggs, Trent Lott's brother in law. Scruggs was rich! He made his big money, really big, by being invited to join the State's suit against big tobacco. On top of that he had a long history as a successful, and politically well positioned, trial lawyer. Nevertheless he was convicted of attempting to bribe a judge. Why? says he gave over ten times as much money to democrat pols in Miss than he gave to republicans. The republicans gave the donations away after scruggs got in trouble. The democrat kept the money.
But you leave all that out and just say he's Trent Lott's brother in law.
Is that important to you. Scruggs is (was) a democrat in the same way that George Wallace was a democrat. (Have you ever heard of 'Yellow Dog' Democrats?, or Boll Weevil Democrats. Have you studied American Political History?) What does this have to do with my post, however, which had nothing whatsoever to do with politics. It was in response to WeToddDid2 wondering if a billionaire would break the law for few tens of millions; a perfectly reasonable question.
