Trump was and still is the target of a soft coup directed by democrat and neo-con operatives embedded in the intell agencies over many years. Trump's administration was hit by unprecedented leaks of confidential information designed to undermine it and call its legitimacy into question. Comey's reluctance to investigate these serious crimes did call his loyalty into question. A president clearly has the right to expect that people answering to him are not pursuing an agenda that is designed to run him out of office. With Comey the jury is still out on that question.
