College professors complain their jobs are being taken by online education.

Quote from hilojack:

Here's a newsflash: one doesn't go to college to learn, one goes to meet people. Bang broads, make friends. Figure out who you want to be, not what. Learn behavior that otherwise was unknown to you. Develop preferences, learn to be funny.

Anything outside of a top 40 school is a waste of time unless your parents are footing the bill.

u must have gone to an ivy league to learn that

Boo hoo I fell so bad for those overpaid profs.

Udacity/SJS-Georgia Tech, the days of profs' paid $100k a year to teach theory which doesn't hold water are over.

If you want to know something about Excel spreadsheet then you tube has some good videos for free.

I look back at my school days and am amazed how boring the teachers made their subjects. History, geography etc. can be really interesting. Mostly time serving people on low wages.

I went to the UC system in CA and I BS you not, I found out after being there a few months the focus at all UC schools is to publish books and papers..................not to teach! WTF is that? If I would have known that I could have gone to Cal State a lot cheaper where the actually focus on teaching.

The teaching done at the UC is done by the TA's who have Master's working towards PHD and they get paid nothing, but discounted tuition.
