Colin Kaepernick Refuses to Stand During National Anthem

Kaepernick, 28, who has refused to stand during the national anthem at two NFL preseason games, said he would donate the first $1 million he makes this season to organizations assisting communities affected by racial injustice and police brutality.
He said he wanted to make sure he was not "just talking about" these issues but was also "actively being involved" and "actively trying to make a change."
He might as well light a match to that million. The government, via taxpayer dollars, has thrown billions upon billions of dollars at these communities, all to no avail. The problem ain't lack of money.
Nearly 8 in 10 black kids will be raised by a single mom, and no father anywhere near to help. Mom will be a teenager herself. Grandma won't have yet reached her 30th birthday. The root of the problem is black men abandoning any and all responsibility for the children they bring into this world. Society is left to clean up the mess. It's an impossible task.

JEFFERSONTOWN, KY—Expressing frustration at not having left the house sooner, local bigot Doug Weber, 43, was reportedly annoyed late Monday night after discovering that the mosque he intended to deface had been vandalized before he got there. “Shit, somebody beat me to it,” said Weber, clenching his jaw and shaking his head as he scrutinized the graffiti-covered walls of the Muslim place of worship. “Ugh, I can’t fucking believe this. I drove all the way across town and there isn’t even a single window left to smash. I went and got all this goddamn spray paint, too. Now what am I supposed to do with it?” At press time, Weber decided to just spray-paint a Muslim slur on top of the other graffiti.

You ask a lefty why should we be letting in the inevitable 1 to 2% terrorists when you take in immigrants from that part of the world and instead of answering the question... they go into a a rant about racism.

I'll deny it.
It is not clear to me, not yet anyway, that what Mr. Kaepernick did wasn't consistent with performing to a "higher standard," as you say. His reasoning may, or may not, be flawed, but did he perform at a "higher standard?" I think probably he did, at least in that one act. It must surely have taken bravery and conviction on his part.
