Colbert's Shocking Attack on Trump Leaves Media Stumbling

Prior to the unratfied treaty Iran was not allowed to have nuclear bombs. True or False.

Prior to the treaty Iran could not get to a near zero break out time... True or Fales.

After the treaty Obama conceded the breakout time would be almost zero. True or False...

That means the treaty enabled them or gave them the right to make nuclear bombs.

In an interview with NPR after the framework of this agreement was reached, President Obama conceded that "at that point the breakout times would have shrunk almost down to zero."

Reality is The Iran nuclear deal does not give Iran the right to build nukes as you keep stating.

Again jem, there is a difference between the right to build nukes and the ability to build nukes.

Iran was already 2-3 months from a nuclear weapon, now they don't have one.Unlike Bush letting N Korea get nukes under his watch,Iran did not get nukes under Obamas watch. Its not even an issue right now.

Trump administration says Iran complying with nuclear deal

MATTHEW LEE
Associated PressApril 18, 2017

WASHINGTON (AP) — The Trump administration has notified Congress that Iran is complying with the terms of the 2015 nuclear deal negotiated by former President Barack Obama, and says the U.S. has extended the sanctions relief given to the Islamic republic in exchange for curbs on its atomic program.

However, in a letter sent late Tuesday to House Speaker Paul Ryan, Secretary of State Rex Tillerson said the administration has undertaken a full review of the agreement, known as the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action.

"Iran remains a leading state sponsor of terror, through many platforms and methods," Tillerson wrote. He said the National Security Council-led interagency review of the agreement will evaluate whether it "is vital to the national security interests of the United States."

The certification of Iran's compliance, which must be sent to Congress every 90 days, is the first issued by the Trump administration. The deadline for this certification was midnight.

As a candidate in the 2016 presidential election, Trump was an outspoken critic of the deal but had offered conflicting opinions on whether he would try to scrap it, modify it or keep it in place with more strenuous enforcement. Tuesday's determination suggested that while Trump agreed with findings by the U.N.'s nuclear watchdog, the International Atomic Energy Agency, that Iran is keeping to its end of the bargain, he is looking for another way to ratchet up pressure on Tehran.

Despite the sanctions relief, Iran remains on the State Department's list of state sponsors of terrorism for its support of anti-Israel groups and is still subject to non-nuclear sanctions, including for human rights abuses and for its backing of Syrian President Bashar Assad's government.

The nuclear deal was sealed in Vienna in July 2015 after 18 months of negotiations led by former Secretary of State John Kerry and diplomats from the other four permanent members of the U.N. Security Council — Britain, China, France and Russia — and Germany. Under its terms, Iran agreed to curb its nuclear program, long suspected of being aimed at developing atomic weapons, in return for billions of dollars in sanctions relief.

Opponents of the deal, including Israel, objected, saying it only delayed Iran's pursuit of nuclear weapons and did not allow for the kind of inspections of its atomic sites that would guarantee it was not cheating. Obama, Kerry and others who negotiated the deal strenuously defended its terms and said the agreement made Israel, the Middle East and the world a safer place.

Your articles illustrates how insane Obama's deal was.
this is exactly the problem and the point I was making.

the president has to certify compliance as Iran gets to go to near zero breakout time.
obama gave them the right to build nukes in 10 years.

the treaty give them cover to get to near zero breakout time in 10 years.
obama gave them the right to get to near zero breakout time.
obama gave them the right to build nukes.

1.Iran was already 2-3 months from having nukes.

2.Now its 2 years later and they have no nukes

3.The stuff you keep posting say they wont get close to a bomb again for 10-25 years.

4.Obama got Iran to sign a contract with The US, Britain, China, France , Russia and Germany forbidding them to build nuclear weapons.

obama gave them the right to build nukes in 10 years.

Iran does not have the right to build nukes in 10 years. The nuclear deal Iran signed with The US, Britain, China, France , Russia and Germany specifically forbids it.

Iran had no right to have a bomb program before.
Now they can get to near zero breakout and be said to be in compliance.

To anyone not to paid to lie.. that is giving them the right to make nukes.
I note obama gave them billions and natural uranium.
your argument is ridiculous.

http://observer.com/2015/07/its-sim...have-nuclear-weapons-in-little-over-a-decade/

That leaves the little matter of Iran’s authorized acquisition of nuclear weapons in just over a decade. The White House team has devised this line, and it is sticking to it: “Every pathway to a nuclear weapon is cut-off.” This, unfortunately, is nonsense. Assuming that Iran does a screeching reversal from a history of cheating on agreements, it will for practical purposes be free to complete a sprint to nuclear weapons, as President Obama himself admitted, with “breakout times [that] have shrunk almost to zero.” With the economic and diplomatic leverage presently in place jettisoned, the West will be powerless to prevent Iran from obtaining nuclear weapons—unless the United States is prepared to use the military option to keep Iran from obtaining them that this White House has made crystal clear will never be used. The Iranians know the United States is unprepared to use such force, and with the tens of billions in funds and unlocked oil revenues handed over to Iran to acquire weapons that can be used to strike at America and its allies, it knows that the United States will be even less willing to act militarily at “break-out time” than it is now.

Put simply, under this deal, Iran will have nuclear weapons in little over a decade, and our children will live their lives under an Iranian nuclear Sword of Damocles. This is the hard fact for which the White House has no answer.

The President’s assertion that the deal has “stopped the spread of nuclear weapons in this region” is Orwellian. Quite apart from its green-lighting of Iran’s acquisition of nuclear weapons, the deal virtually guarantees that Saudi Arabia and other Gulf states will seek to beat Iran to the punch by acquiring their own nuclear weapons. How this constitutes “stopp[ing] the spread of nuclear weapons” in the Mideast is unclear.
