Colbert's Shocking Attack on Trump Leaves Media Stumbling

https://www.washingtonpost.com/news...-trump-below-the-belt/?utm_term=.e8757580ccd7

Briefly, late night host Stephen Colbert launched into an unhinged long-winded attack on the President of the United States last night and concluded it by saying his mouth was only good as a cock holster for Putin. Yep, he actually said that on broadcast TV.

Back when we still had a country, he would have been fired before the sun rose or the FCC would have had CBS in to discuss revoking their broadcast licenses. Now the media are scrambling to come up with an acceptable explanation for his two-fold insult. Most of them are actually more concerned about the "homophobic" nature of the remark than the fact he called the President a cocksucker.

All the mainstream media accounts I have seen attempt to justify it by pointing out remarks by people like Alex Jones or by painting it as an entirely understandable reaction to Trump's squabble with Face the Nation host Dickerson. They all seem to understand that Colbert was way over the line however, since they are downplaying the incident and acting like it was no big deal.

In an age where the biggest conservative voice on TV is forced off the air because of unsubstantiated claims that he used inappropriate language with some women, it will be interesting to see what happens here. My guess is nothing or at most a few days off for Colbert. The left plays by different rules than our side. An advertiser boycott would be a good start however. They were too dainty to be linked to O'Reilly. Let's see how they like having their brand associated with this dirtbag.

Hey, snowflake, what about all the shit that guys like Limbaugh said about Obama? What about Alex Jones's comment about Adam Schiff, as noted right in your link?

Frankly, Trump deserves it. He's sucking up to vicious dictators while taking every opportunity to insult journalists, even insulting John Dickerson right to his face during the interview in the clip. Who does that?

So basically your defense is that CBS is no different than Alex Jones? Seriously?

Trump should revoke CBS' White House credentials and bar members of his administration from appearing on the network until Colbert is fired.

Trumps' comments about Face the Nation were undignified but understandable in light of the extremely unfair coverage he has received and the network's unrelenting bias. The fact that Colbert is still employed there further validates that.

Disagree. Revoking White House credentials for the network is way, way overboard. Could understand revoking Colbert's credentials, if he had any.
