Comparing the image above with a different image below...
Kansas has a problem with allowing the minimum age to be as low as 15 years of age.
Now take a look at Illinois, it's an orange state and 16 is currently the minimum age with parental consent. Four bills seeking to end child marriage died in the legislature in
2022 but a similar bill, HB1252, is awaiting action in the house Family Law & Probate
subcommittee...
Looking closer, most parents consenting to their child getting married in Illinois (Democrat state) are in rural communities (Republican communities).
Considering girls are at higher risk of health problems, sexual abuse, and marital abuse from husbands in a child marriage...many courts in Illinois require residence location rules for the child to the parent's residence location.
Simply, a child who gets married can not move out of the designated area until 18 years of age.
Regardless, it's a United States problem and not just a Red state problem. The U.S. is not protecting its children along with not providing resources & education that prevent child marriages.
In my opinion, there is a more interesting statistic. Counties in the United States that have younger women getting married and having more babies (more fertile)...these women (if 18 years of age), their parents, or their families tend to vote Republican.
Another way to look at the above, Conservatives tend to have more kids and have them earlier.
Street slang - Conservatives are fucking more than Liberals and at a younger age. Thus, there's a lot of fucking in
Kansas.
