Judge Shira A. Scheindlin, ruling on a class-action lawsuit, wrote that the policy violated plaintiffs' Fourth Amendment rights barring unreasonable searches, finding that police made at least 200,000 stops from 2004 to June 2012 without reasonable suspicion.
She also found evidence of racial profiling, violating plaintiffs' 14th Amendment rights guaranteeing equal protection.
The police department had said that the policy -- in which police stop, question and frisk people they considered suspicious -- is used to deter crime.

It sounds to me like the lefties here would support prejudicial punishment if reid pelosi and obama asked for it.
At some point you have to stand up for liberty over more govt power.
Say a cop does not like you. Even if you are not doing anything suspicious... he can (according to you) come up to you frisk you and find gun or knife on you. (even if it was his.)
Is that the kind of power your want to give a cop, a prosecutor or a politican who has buddies on the force.

have you ever read police reports --- they are all sanitized by 2 or 3 people before they get to court...screwing the constitution is already institutionalized.
