I hear ya but it is hard to tell. One would think that if embarassment were just the issue that Jeffrey Toobin would be gone by now. But I guess not.

Of note and interest, in CNN's statement announcing his firing, they said they had also found other issues and the investigation is continuing even though he has been fired. So she undoubtedly gave cnn plenty of dirt.

Even though they suspended him, they were willing to keep him on the payroll, and they knew he had covered for his brother and tried to pressure other media sources for helpful information. Then suddenly, they decided they could not even have him on the payroll and that other issues had come up as well. A piece or two of the picture is still missing. Looks like they skidaddled real fast to avoid the "how come you kept him on the payroll knowing what you did" dilemma.

I don't know, could also just be that the state of New York released all those video interviews of victims that are now being played- which are not pretty- and CNN wanted to cut ties even faster. They got more stuff on him though. Probably- in addition to the videos- all of the investigative material from Andy's investigation. You may recall that it was the black, female AG in New York who launched the investigation to remove him so that his job will open up. She does not want to be running with Chris still on CNN talking up his brother.

Plus the brand new sexual misconduct allegations against Chris Cuomo which gives the network clear grounds to fire him -- where trying to fire him only on grounds of trying to help his brother may have been messy.

Chris Cuomo claims CNN boss Jeff Zucker knew about involvement in gov scandal

Canned CNN host Chris Cuomo has fired back at the network — accusing his boss of knowing everything about his involvement in trying to quash ex-Gov. Andrew Cuomo’s sex scandal.

In a new statement, a spokesman for the fallen TV star threw his longtime ally CNN President Jeff Zucker under the bus, while insisting the journalist “has the highest level of admiration and respect” for him.

“They were widely known to be extremely close and in regular contact, including about the details of Mr. Cuomo’s support for his brother,” the spokesman told the Wall Street Journal Sunday of Chris Cuomo’s shady support for his big brother as the governor’s sex scandal unfolded.

“There were no secrets about this, as other individuals besides Mr. Cuomo can attest,” the spokesman added.
