Well in their opinion America was never great to begin with as it is built on stolen land from the Native Americans. Funny how our Canadian friends on this message board never mention how Canada was stolen from First Nations peoples.

If you try to mention intentions after arrival then prepare to get a lecture based on anecdotal data on how Jose the guy who cuts their grass and works 50 jobs and is so much better than Whitey in every possible way.

Canada will probably reach some form of UBI (Universal Basic Income) before the USA. Canada will wish they had a border wall of their own at that point. You will also see things like "Immigrant Arbitrage" in the future where migrants go to a country giving out UBI to get on their books and then return to their home land to enjoy increased buying power with their newly found income streams. You will be called racist if you question the legitimacy and motivations of people who collect UBI in multiple countries simultaneously remotely after they have returned to their homeland. Proving geographic location and residency while collecting UBI will be a hot issue in the future.

Every land was stolen from someone else man. Just depends how far you look back.

Sadly, how very true is that. A democratic party with no issues and more importantly, zero credible leadership. And I say that as someone who is sees conservative economic policies as ruining American society. But unless there are better solutions on the table that are presented by true accomplished leaders I don't believe people will vote for Democrats in sufficiently large numbers to cause a political shift in either house.

I'm not so sure how motivating or reliable polls are after the last Presidential election. I also think that your average citizen is more inclinded to lie to or mislead a pollster - especially a pollster representing a media outlet.

I try to believe in those principles that make the most sense to me, some are more aligned with some conservative values others more with liberal values. For example, I am strongly against unfettered gun ownership, background checks don't go far enough by a mile. And I am for a woman to freely decide what to do with her body and fetus as long as as it is within a universally agreed and scientifically sound period (note that I am for free choice not for abortion, in fact I personally find it the wrong choice but I acknowledge that every woman has to make that choice for herself) . But I am also strongly against tolerating illegal immigrants. And that includes children of illegals regardless of where they were born. I favor a lean government and find the current military spending one of the worst sins in American history. I look to believe in a logical and coherent set of political policies. Unfortunately neither party represents them.

Thanks for explaining ur positions. Interesting. Politics is a relative game. No absolutes. Trump wilted on a few key promises. It's a juggling act. We continue, take our half loaf now, and come back for the other half later. Keep moving the ball forward.....
