No, I wasn't actually nitpicking at all. State owned enterprises are almost universally subject to restrictions on how they deliver their services that makes it difficult or impossible for them to be profitable that private sector companies aren't subjected to. The USPS is a perfect example of that, but it applies to almost any state owned enterprise that you can name, especially those you would deem poorly run. And of course profitability isn't their goal, while it is the goal of private sector companies. I spent many years in government and many years as a successful entrepreneur, as a result seeing this apples to oranges comparison is frustrating when those making it really don't understand the underlying issues which are far more complex then they seem to think they are.
