CNBC - Cramer's Mad Money

They start recording the show 30 minutes early - at 5:30EST. The show starts airing at 6:00EST.

Why are you people so obsessed with Cramer? If you don't like him, don't watch him. But - for the love of God - find something better to do with your time than bitch and moan about him!!!

Around 16:44, MLNM bids jumped up to 8.60 (it closed at 8.27). Cramer touted MLNM on his show at 18:08, and it shot up some more, to as high as 9.49. Someone on the MLNM Yahoo board posted the reason: he/she said people who call in to the show at 4PM get to listen to it while it's being taped. This might also explain the pop in HAL at 16:21 - Cramer mentioned the HAL and SLB at the top of his show.

This seems about as unethical as those people who front-run a Barron's or WSJ article, and I hope they plug this hole.

"Unethical"? I got news for you: there is a distinction between "unethical" and "illegal". Front-running a WSJ article that the writer tipped you on before it's publication is illegal. Buying ahead of the Cramer show because you found out he will discuss a company is not illegal.

In fact, if you have a means to find out what is on the Cramer show ahead of time, feel free to buy yourself. Whether it works out though is another question.

It is not illegal to act on public information ahead of other traders. Public information for instance would be a schedule of what is to be discussed on the show.

Don't ever wish for the SEC to "do something"....because whatever they do will be worse than it was before.

The people that can't make money resent the people that can. So, they don't like Cramer.

Oldtrader,

I am interested by your post. My understanding is that front-running a WSJ article AND front-running the Cramer circus are BOTH legal.

Why would front-running a WSJ article be illegal? How is it different than front-running the Cramer circus?

the drivel you just posted has just hit a new height even taking into consideration that this board is inundated with nonsense."my understanding" you understand? hopefully you have better sources of information when it comes to trading. would you like a list of prision consultants who will help to make your jail time more bearable.
