The ACA is terrible, but much better than what we had before.
For the life of me, I cannot understand how people can claim that it is "better than what we had before", when NOBODY KNOWS.
All that most of us can comment on currently is that just about nobody can access the website, there is enough evidence that a significant percentage of people are experiencing sticker shock; a combination of hefty premium increases combined with massive deductables; and last, but not least, some downright terrifying news about how the out of network coverage will really affect people who don't spend every waking moment in one place throughout the year.
The implementation of this collosal clusfter**** is still IN THE FUTURE, not the present...so the claim that it's "much better than we had before" is ludicrous...
FWIW, this overhaul is some similar to "financial reform". Essentially, take a broken system and layer on a whole bunch of new regulations and declare it "fixed". With this two party dysfunction, there is never any attempt to actually fix what is broken. Instead, we get a bunch of PR fluff and cosmetic "touch ups" to try and divide the populace along party lines and create an absurd "fix". It's nonsense.
