C'mon Canada

Car thefts are so bad... that you should just leave your car keys at your front door so your car is easier to steal. This is how nice, polite Canadians act. Sincerely, your Police Department.

Toronto is a very ethnically diverse city...similar to New York, Chicago or Los Angeles but Toronto has less crime.

Looking at homicide rates in other U.S. cities, which are measured as the number of homicides per 100,000 people, Toronto is 18th with a rate of 1.81 per 100,000 in Canada. This is considerably safer compared to U.S. cities like Philadelphia or Pittsburgh, which see about 20 homicides per 100,000 people.

Yet, why would he recommend leaving car keys at the front door instead of just recommending leaving the car keys on the front seat with the doors unlocked?

Also, auto interior security cameras are becoming more popular...I wouldn't be surprised if auto-makers began putting interior security cameras as a standard safety feature and anti-theft deterrent.
