CME & Globex option on tws

when you put nq on the tws screen it gives you the option between cme and globex. What is this option? Is it just for quotes or are there two different exchanges?
 
Globex is the electronic portion of the CME.

That option will give Pit or electronic. Actually I don't think you get the pit, but the cash.

Doublecheck that, but I think that either choice gets you to the same place. IB only trades electronic markets.

with ES (s&p500) CME is just the quote,
and Globex is for trading/quotes

I suspect it may be the same for NQ (nasdaq)
