Biden is being a little too congenial here. Castro attacked Biden on Obama’s record even though he served as a secretary to Obama and could have resigned in protest to any of the policies he attacked Biden for.

Castro made a poor political move by hitching his cart onto Warren’s. He is another one that totally misread the party on whole.

Why would Biden do otherwise though?

He wants Latino votes and the Castro Boy just left some on the table.

And he needs the Castro Boy to campaign for him if he is the nominee, which works for Castro because he needs a job in the administration.

Tying his fate to Warren is one problem, but the other is that he fell so low that he did not really pass the test for VP material out on the trail so I doubt that she would want/benefit from him even if she were able to restore herself. The VP can be a token but he/she also needs to bring in some votes. FAIL ON HIS PART.

She also wants his support out there because she also has a "walking-while-being-old-and-white" problem that she has to work on. Ditto for Biden...Bernie. Let's face it, Castro is the dem party's token hispanic so he has a position waiting for him somewhere.

Yeh, congenial is the right move.

So, I guess that leaves the door open to a future race where it will be his time. Such as what, when there is an election race where there are no other candidates? Latins are 17% of the population, Blacks are 13% of the population. 23% of the population are of these two groups and those registered to vote is obviously less. (because it includes those under 18 plus not one group has 100% turnout)

GOP won in 2016 with a slate so white it makes bleach look dark.

It is a myth you need a Black or Latino on the ticket to win. You just need good candidates or candidates that speak to issues that matter. Dems are failing on both counts in my opinion and to make matters worse they might force a minority on the ticket as VP that helps in states they already would win with whiteys.

Yup, the hispanic or black affiliations/connections can make good add-on qualifications for a candidate but there has to be a base that it is added unto.

In fairness to the GOP- at least at the primary level, last time they had two real live hispanics- spanish speaking sons-of-immigrants (Rubio and Cruz) and even White Bread Jeb spoke spanish, was married to a real-live actual Mexican immigrant and was the father of hispanic children. And all of those candidates ran stronger than the Castro Boy has because they had done other things or comported themselves at a higher level.

I’m sure congenial is the way to go just Castro does not deserve it.

You’re misreading Castro’s place in the party and Biden’s for that matter.
