Commodities are traded 24/7. So at what time should the closing price be registered? Yahoo finance gives different closing prices throughout the day....

They are not traded 24/7. Only cryptos and pure forex are traded 24/7.

Crude oil uses VWAP for the last 2 minutes before the old pit close at 2:30 est.

I think the closing price is straight forward. The opening price is the one that overnight trading really influenced.
