But there are many many true stories of people who kept trying, who sought training, who kept coming back, who failed a number of times until it finally clicked.

Fortunately dbphoenix wasn't around to give Thomas Edison advice when he was working on a filament for the light bulb. He tested thousands of materials including over 6000 plant fiber types. I imagine there were times that he wanted to stop, or quit. But thankfully he persisted and persevered.

So now GG is Thomas Edison.

And the pep rally continues.

Keep trying, GG. If you quit, we won't have any more of these self-pity wallows to enjoy.

Gordon,

If trading doesn't go well, you're apparent ability to get shit rolling on a Wednesday night might be a sign that you'll do wonderful on your own talk show or perhaps get into advertising. I'm sure Baron is recalculating his ad rates based soley on the effect you have had tonight.

Hey Aphex, it has been a loooong time since you stirred the shit up. Where ya been?

I logged off for a week and went to a club! Can you believe it!!

And your strategy? A secret? Ah. So all we have to go by is your word. Hmm. Well, hell, GG, on the basis of this self-serving testimonial, I'd keep at it until I'm living in a box.
What proof do we have that you are successful db? That is always one of your questions. Where is your proof? I'll put my trading account up against yours any day. I'll tell you what... let's send a copy of our accounts to a mutually agreed upon middleman who can then post them. And do it right now. I can download mine quickly and easily. Surely you can too.

And those NQ trades you said you were making money on. You remember, the ones you posted after the fact in the Keep It Simple thread. Did you post the confirmations? Was anyone shallow enough to require proof, or was everyone mature enough to accept that you have better things to do than BS about your trades?

Why am I not surprised?

You still have not posted of your charmed and amazing view of Ivory Tower life...How is it? Hope it is full of Amazing IVY experience. I am curious?

Can us shitheads be saved? We are all worried about our semi-downard existance. Unless YOU show us how it's done.

Please. Show us the way!

Yes db, that was exactly my point, GG is Thomas Edison. You really distilled that one. Good job.

Maybe if you were more successful yourself you wouldn't enjoy seeing other people fail so much. That is what is truly pitiful.

TO: GORDON G

Do you have a system that has been thoroughly backtested?

If so, answer the following questions...

1) What market/s are you trading? (Markets)
2) How much are you buying and selling? (Position size)
3) When are you buying and selling (Entries)
4) When are you getting out of a losing position? (Stops)
5) When are you getting out of a winning position? (Exits)
6) How are you buying and selling? (Tactics)

The most important part of trading is sticking to your system. It sounds to me that you are two steps behind because firstly you don't have a system and secondly you haven't backtested or researched the potential results of your system (which you don't have to begin with).

You can't expect to profit by shooting from the hip, buckle down and do some real work. If you need some guidance I am more then happy to assist. Below is my web site.

Also, you might consider joining one of Ed Seykota's trading tribes. It seems you have a lot of feelings to examine.

Gordon have you thought about rml trading. I am in NO WAY affiliated with them but they only require $2500 and give 10-1 leverage and you can get licenses. I know theyre a prop shop and get their cut but nothings free after all. That way you could trade with leverage to see how you do. Stay in school and swing trade with them. I'm in a similar situation as yourself. I'm 29 with licenses but going back to school for first time in 5 years to finish my last two years. I will try them as soon as I can save up the dough. I'm broke but have a passion for the game too.

congrat on most popular thread, back then the 'screwed' thread took 9 hours to reach 10 pages, this thread need only 3 hours. As far as saying 'looking for sympathy' I don't recall but this is what I said

but ET proved to be irresistable, you are pulled back time and again, I always appreciate your sincere expression, your have way with words I bet you make a killer bartender (new faces every nights, wink, wink). I am fresh out of everything, sympathy, advise whatever, what worth saying somebody already said. I am ahead of you about 15 years so believe me when I say you ain't seen nothing yet. (out of clever ending, too).

edit: I would trade my left nut to be 25 and to be passionate about something again, life without goal ain't the life worth living my friend.
nkhoi,

i hope you didn't take my remarks on page one too seriously. at the time i wrote it, i knew i would probably get some backlash and i was pretty sure at one time you said i was just looking for sympathy. if i am wrong, i apologize.

i post this stuff on ET because i know there are people here that will understand me and my situation. my friends certainly won't understand (none of them trade)...

anyway, i have no bad feelings for anyone here on ET...even dbphoenix, who i strongly disagree with on this. i may disagree with people on individual issues, but when it comes down to it, there is no one here i hate or anything...

GG
