It's in the same vein as the Chen/Tung work on the North Atlantic (and the effects of introducing large quantities of fresh water into that area).

Anyone keeping up with the issue just knew the heat was going somewhere, the physics of the CO2 molecule have not changed. And the Earth's albedo is going down, not up.

... I apologize if I misled anyone. My sentence was clumsily worded. I meant to suggest that one could imply from your posts that you would favor some means of putting restrictions on CO2 emissions. As Cap and Trade is the currently promoted mechanism for doing that, I used it as it a stand-in for whatever mechanism you might favor to reduce CO2 emissions. This was sloppy writing. I should have been more accurate.

No. They are not expected to be exactly proportional. Natural variations of course will result in something other than a smooth line. The air is just a small fraction of the earth's heat.

In fact, if one looks at the chart of ocean heat content above, one can see an increase in rate starting around '98.
