Climate Change Vital Signs of The Planet.

Quote from Free Thinker:

.... to me its really just a battle in the war against the science deniers on the right.

Henny Penny strikes again..!!!

Quote from Free Thinker:

i have a duty for the good of mankind to educate out willfull ignorance whether it be from religion or ideology.

We Have A Responsibility…as unbelievers, we have a responsibility to the future of our species to do whatever we can to disseminate the science and eliminate the myth.
Humanity has the stars in its future, and that future is too important to be lost under the burden of juvenile folly and ignorant superstition.

That's pretty damn funny pthinker.

I didn't know you wrote for "the onion".

Quote from Free Thinker:

you have a point. to me its really just a battle in the war against the science deniers on the right.

It's pretty funny when the charlatans and idiots use the "it's science" mantra.

It never ceases to amaze me that idiots like yourself think if you just use the correct phrase you can hypnotize us and bypass all reasoned thought and we will suddenly accede to all your demands.

What's next, "it's for the children" .

Duty -
Noun
1. something that one is expected or required to do by moral or legal obligation.

Responsibility -
1. having a capacity for moral decisions and therefore accountable;

For atheists, morality is subjective. It changes as often as the wind.

Here is a video of an atheist arguing with a Christian about morality.

Should someone whos definition of morality is constantly changing get to tell others whats right & wrong?

Well put.

Plus, they're shamelessly selective. Science is paramount and has to be obeyed unless it is something that they disagree with, then science must be ignored.

Maybe you guys haven't heard..

Contrary to what many people think, the debate about the essential aspects of man-made global warming is over.......among scientists in the field of climate studies.

********************

"In the scientific field of climate studies – which is informed by many different disciplines – the consensus is demonstrated by the number of scientists who have stopped arguing about what is causing climate change – and that’s nearly all of them. A survey of all peer-reviewed abstracts on the subject 'global climate change' published between 1993 and 2003 shows that not a single paper rejected the consensus position that global warming is man caused. 75% of the papers agreed with the consensus position while 25% made no comment either way, focusing on methods or paleoclimate analysis (Oreskes 2004).

Several subsequent studies confirm that “...the debate on the authenticity of global warming and the role played by human activity is largely nonexistent among those who understand the nuances and scientific basis of long-term climate processes”. (Doran 2009). In other words, more than 95% of scientists working in the disciplines contributing to studies of our climate, accept that climate change is almost certainly being caused by human activities.

We should also consider official scientific bodies and what they think about climate change. There are no national or major scientific institutions anywhere in the world that dispute the theory of anthropogenic climate change. Not one."

In the field of climate science, the consensus is unequivocal: human activities are causing climate change.

Scientific organizations endorsing the consensus
The following scientific organizations endorse the consensus position that "most of the global warming in recent decades can be attributed to human activities":

American Association for the Advancement of Science
American Astronomical Society
American Chemical Society
American Geophysical Union
American Institute of Physics
American Meteorological Society
American Physical Society
Australian Meteorological and Oceanographic Society
Australian Bureau of Meteorology and the CSIRO
British Antarctic Survey
Canadian Foundation for Climate and Atmospheric Sciences
Canadian Meteorological and Oceanographic Society
Environmental Protection Agency
European Federation of Geologists
European Geosciences Union
European Physical Society
Federation of American Scientists
Federation of Australian Scientific and Technological Societies
Geological Society of America
Geological Society of Australia
International Union for Quaternary Research (INQUA)
International Union of Geodesy and Geophysics
National Center for Atmospheric Research
National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration
Royal Meteorological Society
Royal Society of the UK
The Academies of Science from 19 different countries all endorse the consensus. 13 countries have signed a joint statement endorsing the consensus position:

Academia Brasiliera de Ciencias (Brazil)
Royal Society of Canada
Chinese Academy of Sciences
Academie des Sciences (France)
Deutsche Akademie der Naturforscher Leopoldina (Germany)
Indian National Science Academy
Accademia dei Lincei (Italy)
Science Council of Japan
Academia Mexicana de Ciencias (Mexico)
Russian Academy of Sciences
Academy of Science of South Africa
Royal Society (United Kingdom)
National Academy of Sciences (USA) (12 Mar 2009 news release)
A letter from 18 scientific organizations to US Congress states:

"Observations throughout the world make it clear that climate change is occurring, and rigorous scientific research demonstrates that the greenhouse gases emitted by human activities are the primary driver. These conclusions are based on multiple independent lines of evidence, and contrary assertions are inconsistent with an objective assessment of the vast body of peer-reviewed science."

Once Henny Penny decides that the sky is falling and then tells Cocky Locky, Ducky Daddles, Drakey Lakey, Goosey Poosey, Gander Lander, Turkey Lurkey, they all go to the internet and find something that agrees totally with what they believe posted by Fox Lox. Once that's done there's no reason to look any further.

The fable is interpreted as a warning not to believe everything you are told.
