CLass action against FED

Quote from Avid_Consumer:

it raises an interesting question though. obviously when you short you take the risk that natural free market forces move the market against you.

what about when it's a deliberate action by a quasi governmental body to save failing institutions who used too much leverage? isn't that the ultimate form of manipulation to favor a small specific group of participants who made poor trading decisions?

what is 'too big to fail' supposed to mean in a supposedly free market? if the market isn't allowed to pursue natural corrections, isn't that the same as rewarding participants for 'bad' decisions?

we might all trade 60 to 1 leverage if we knew we'd get bailed out of trouble

Thanks,
that's exaclty what I meant.
I haven't lost anyhing. I made some money being long and short
but this market is not free, it's manipulated to favor just one group doesn't matter how stupid they are

But what interesting - people here even didn't try to understand the meaning of my post - to illustrate today manipulation
And instead of that teaching and yelling how stupid I'm and how I can't trade. Pathetic:eek:

FED must pay to everyone who was short today at the start of day and can prove it

Who the hell shorts the market down 30 points....just a foolish trade IMO!

doesn't really matter, there's always a counterparty right?

when the banks recovered their cash problems, etc due to fed intervention, if they bought any eq futs as a result, those counterparties got kind of screwed, whoever they were

you could also argue that if fed intervention supports stock markets, investors are also getting screwed in an economy where bad decisions are systemically reinforced by the central banking system

the fed is deciding the difference between long term value and trading risk, instead of the market itself.

#1 sign of a losing retail trader...

doesn't take responsibility for his own trades.

i've seen it over and over again. traders who blame anybody but themselves are not ever going to be professional profitable traders.

At least they divest themselves of some money in the markets before they go away.
