CL Redux

If a stop is just outside a really obvious level, you can have serious slippage. By "obvious" I mean something like resistance/support on a low volume consolidative ascending/descending triangle, or the high/low of the day in a well defined trend.

I once got 21 tick slippage trading one, and I've also had many instances of no slippage at all trading five or six. That's my max, I'm a piker :D

Hey Visaria, in another thread you said you are in Europe, have you looked at Brent Crude? Is volume/liquidity much worse than WTI?

It's probably the same or maybe slightly better. I have traded it in the past. But i feel more familiar with NYMEX so I am sticking to that one. Also Brent has slightly annoying (London) times as to when it opens and closes.

Note that Brent is THE world benchmark for oil price discovery, not WTI.

How much size can CL take with a 1-3 cent slip, during rth?

3 deep the order book as 30 to 50 accumulated, you can sweep the levels with a limit order & see how you go.

TT MD trader has a right click function where you can sweep with maximum quantity

Hi Eon, I was wondering if you could explain that sentence for the uninitiated? "3 deep the order book as 30 to 50 accumulated, you can sweep the levels with a limit order & see how you go."
