I'm trying to see if I can schedule daytrading into my life. The only time that could work for me that is worth trading is the the first two hours of london session. I'm starting to watch some charts and papertrade, but my data vendor doesn't provide the spread. What does it average during this time period?
Thanks!

Check out OEC (Open e-Cry).

They offer a 2 week free trial using their software and simulated trading account. You'll be able to see the London futures contracts.

I've heard good things about CTS T4. You can get it from most brokers. I believe you'll be able to trade just about anything with it, and the charting is very good.

8am UK time onwards: spread is about a tick on WTI.

That very much depends on where your stop is. If it is at a key technical point, then not many!!! Any other points, at least 5 and probably 10.

I don't trade 30-70 contracts so i can't say. I can certainly tell you i've had slippage of 10 ticks on a LOT less than 30 contracts in RTH.
