CL Redux

Quote from Laissez Faire:

Now, I`m enlightened. :D

I`m pretty good at spotting levels and potential reversals on ES, but I`m fairly clueless with crude. I typically only look at the swings.

Do you guys watch equities to make trading decisions in crude oil?

sometimes it gives some confirmation, 6E is also an instrument to watch, relative strength etc. I think it only gives a very small edge with crude, but every small edge counts.

A good trade would be if CL forms a bull flag on index/6E weakness, also helps to time the waves.

Why 96-96,50?

Managed to grab a nice piece of this drop on my first day of live day trading crude oil.

May have to take the rest of the day off to ensure that my first day is nice and green. :)
cl is a much thinner market ,moves huge and 100 times faster than es, keep that in mind, stops are mandatory

Thanks for the input, kid.

Still looking for 96 for the day or satsified with 96,40?

Nice call.

No doubt.

I`m starting to notice some differences and for the first time in my life I experience actual slippage. Definitely a tougher instrument when it comes to execution, but in many ways a much easier instrument for actual short-term day trading. :)

Still learning the rhythm of this beautiful and cunning instrument.

Got out of a long at breakeven at 96,85, but managed to get back in and still catch a little piece. :)

You mentioned tick charts, Kid.

What settings do you use?

My current set-up is the 1-minute chart with a 13 tick chart to "look inside".

Did not find any particular value in volume charts or range charts. Maybe I need to tweak them more.

I use the 6s, Only because it's what I used before on stocks. Stick to a time frame or tick size and you'll in time see the same repeating price action
