Quote from Visaria:

The "3000 at market" in the video was relating to S&P futures, not oil. Also it wasn't at market but at a price.

Very big paper orders that come in are at a price, v rare that they come in at market. In fact, i can't even recall that happening. If they do, liquidity would just dry up as other orders are pulled since it looks like someone is in trouble and is trying to exit a position.

V,
Thanks for clearing up that for me.

Ammo,

Thanks for article. I thought there were 3000 lot limits on positions already. That isn't enforced yet or are they trying to make it even less?

You can just look at the volume and the PA. Both increase at the open and can decrease after the close (but not necessarily after the close) which are the times you've indicated. Good luck with your studies.

Thanks.

So the official "open" is during the hours I stated (pit session)?

When do you US guys start your actual trading session? At the open or during the last hour of the pre-market? :)

The Globex session runs all night in the U.S. Ask Visaria who lives in the UK. And some of the best moves sometimes happen in the middle of the night here. Like early this morning.

I live in California. It's 5 AM here. Too early. I'm not a morning person and I hate getting up early. But some of the best and most "obvious" moves come early, although it moves throughout the day obviously. So I get up. Wish I lived in the Eastern time zone. 8 AM now is much more civilized than 5 AM. And it's even more civilized hours in Europe. One trader here, cornixforex, lives in Russia.

You're not scalping anyway so you'll be alright.

Wiring money out of my account this morning, so can't trade until it clears. Oh, well.

Have a good trading day everyone.
