CME Globex Update

The following actions will be taken on CME Globex Crude Complex Futures and Options markets prior to the market opening: All day and session orders, including GTDs with today's date will be canceled. All GTCs that have been acknowledged will remain working.

Not sure how to translate this. Do they mean earlier orders? Do I lose my money from earlier in the day? Maybe they just mean open orders.

I think they mean all day orders (not GTC) that haven't been executed yet.

Yeah that must be it. Thanks. Like I said I hope no one here gets burned. I lost $10k one day in 2001 on an earnings warning trading halt. Different but similar in that there was nothing I could do. I was long and lost that money. If I had been short I would have made that much. I hate it when we can't access the markets especially when we're in a trade.

Similar here, years ago, I was up about $2k in one of the stock index futures. Globex went down, and that +$2k turned into -$2k. I didn't have access to the pit (nor I had the capital to trade the big contract).

Brent is up $0.33 since WTI broke down. I assume WTI would have been 100.70-100.80 now...

WTI is up on ICE, 100.94, up 50 cents vs CL last price. CS (coil/brent) up 10-15 cents.

CME Globex Crude Complex Futures and Options markets will open at 14:15 Central Time with a 15 minute pre-open.

All day and session orders, including GTD's with today's date will be cancelled. All GTC's that have been acknowledged will remain working.

Due to the technical problem in electronic trading, SEC will ban electronic trading and route all orders to the pit.

OK, seriously, I hope SEC will spend its efforts on finding out WHAT or WHO caused the electronic trading problem.

My guess is that some failed algorithm traders who just cannot get their algorithms to work profitably did the hacking.

Let's find out WHO did it.

Come on SEC employees, get off your porn surfing websites and do something useful for us traders.
