CL Redux

This ACD method sounds like it would be pretty easy to program. Have you tried it? I have fallen in love with that Prodigio thingy on the TOS platform. I have never actually used it in real life but it sure is fun to screw around with.

Thanks MF I'll go pick it up and see what I can absorb over the weekend. I had to read Dalton's books several times before before it started to click. Even now as I read about setups and then try to translate that knowledge into a real time interpretation I always want to revert back to what feels comfortable instead of sticking to the plan.

Jim Dalton books are not for set ups. In fact i was pissed of to say the least that after reading his books and watching 30 hours of webinars on volume/market profile, when i heard Jim Dalton said during on of his presentation that he is not a Market Profile trader.

I was confused and pissed off. Now , i get it. It provides market structure , VAH, POC , VAL etc.. but to trade off these is quite esoteric. For executing trades Mark Fisher comes in and getting market structure Jim Dalton .

I am almost sounding esoteric myself (lol).

DC i took a private coaching session- cost me a bundle- on fibs. I could never figure out as to use which valleys and peaks to draw fibs.

Any ideas? Which time frame you use to pick refrence points to draw fibs.

i start from larger timeframe and work myself into smaller ones. attached is an example how one can use fibs even in 1 min timeframe. this method is what Shopster goes over in his thread.

basically i draw fibs in all timeframes throughout the day whenever i see peaks/valleys made. at first i got stopped out alot mainly b/c i was too lazy to draw all the fibs but i'm getting better. today was like one of those days when i started using it.

the main reason why i got stopped out of my short position early in the day is b/c i didn't have those fib lines drawn in at the time. i was just eyeballing it. had i drawn that in i'd have been more confident in my trade and perhaps stayed in.

I haven't tried programing anything yet where time and the passage of time without anything happening is important so that might not be happening

I found the ACD thread on here and it's pretty entertaining

Today was a day to put foot on the gas and make an entire week. Trading CL requires decisive action and fastest reaction possible if one trades like me - which is to use 10 ticks stop loss.

If a trade does not work with 10-15 ticks stop loss, it on most occasions will not work even with 60 ticks stop loss. The quicker one understand this concept, better one will be off.

I forgot this rule of mine and was down BIG in the morning. In the end Mark fisher system saved me.

Definitely a "NEXT!" sort of idea, concerning 10-15 SL vs 60..I understand that aspect well.

Stop blaming others for your success! Or, was that 'your losses'... hmmm

The nitty gritty, I haven't fully hashed out as yet, but as I can tell (and I have read this sort of thing in this thread), Mark fishers system is a framework with which to capture market sentiment. DC says you still have to know how to trade, I'd think so as well...

A gun is a system of mechanical harmony. If you'd get yourself out of a jam by using the gun, the gun didn't save you, it doesn't care either way. You saved you.
