CL Redux

Quote from jones247:

I apologize, as this post may be a bit off target for this thread; however, it's applicable to a volatile instrument such as CL...

With that said... has anyone tried to develop a technique that averages down and averages up? By averaging up you offest the negative risk/reward associated with averaging down; although it also offsets the improved avg price of your positions. Nonetheless, it captures the explosiveness associated with averaging up on the right side of the market. The profit & loss targets will need to be based on $ threshold instead of pure ticks from entry.

Again, sorry for the tangent... perhaps I'll start a thread dedicated to this concept.
That's okay. No problem. We started to talk about this a little while ago. And we're interested in the topic of adding to a winning trade.

But back to the market right now. :)

There you go. Hard to know when to take a profit now at these levels and after this move, and when to let it ride.

Shoot, I wish I didn't have to sell half how I did but it was almost necessary to ensure not taking a huge hit, I'll still profit at my original target. With this big jump in oil can we say we out of the bear's woods? :)

The big boys knew exactly what they were doing, who has the capacity to swing CL $5.

My condolences to those who got torn a new Ahole

I've been thinking about you all morning. And I was hoping my comments yesterday didn't have a negative affect on these particular trades. They were just some comments on trading in general. I'm really happy that you at least made some money. :)

This volatility's insane. I've resorted to a very small time frame and took that last long off for .20 when it double topped on the 1-min, figuring if no break thru .49, then I'll take a paycheck on the spot.
