Nobody I know of in this thread dislikes any strategy. It's nice to see different strategies, IMHO. Everyone following this thread knows my strategies and is likely front-running me

What does cause some of us to raise eyebrows are comments about certainty, something always working, sure things, etc. The market is chaotic, irrational and there are no sure things, only some things a little surer than others.

So post away!

sure thing is candle will always touch moving average, and that's 100% sure thing. that's why this strategy will work in 100% win rate when handling correctly.

If we go up to 82 tonight I'll be looking to get short. Although I don't see it getting above 81.80 Maybe I'll scale in. 81.85, 82.25, 82.85 scaled stops 83.325, 83.675... Still looking for 80 and then 78.80.

Keep in mind, however, that it's a MOVING average, which means if price runs far and fast enough before pulling back to it, it may have a moved a long way from your average price :eek:

I know how you trade because I did it in sim for months with great success. Trading for a living however and having to attain a 150% annual ROI to do that, I had to find a strategy that limited my risk of ruin in the event of a rogue move.

sure, that's most tricky part of this strategy, and most people fail to handle it correctly. but with careful operation, the yearly ROI could be at least 250%(daily average profit as 1% of account size), or with some optimistic evaluation could be 500-1000%(daily average profit as 2%-4% of account size). with my experiment, i found minimum account size to get this working will be 100k for CL.

up in ah session, you often see that weak as hell during rth, and boom in asia up, and then starts losing some gains during europe, and then weak as hell in the us next day....

we have been stuck in this area for the meat of trading for awhile....forget the runnup to 88, before that we were right here in this same trading range.

nd, if you were patient, did you notice all the potential 5 point stop buys today that would work great?

with all this talk about inflation we are basically right where we were this time last year with traders looking for pullbacks to 80 & then 78...........so crude oil basically had no inflation for an entire year, even with a stimulus boost

Via his cavalier post, dejavu might have been insinuating that trading multiple lots makes one tired, or that he made so much money he can afford to just take a nap while some of us risk breaking a fingernail on our calculator as we tally up how far we're up on our hypothetical pre-market NFLX long position. I just think it's bad form to set that kind of example for the many newer traders here who are struggling with all their might not to play Call of Duty during narrow range consolidation on low volume.

DV, are your larger size positions the result of averaging into a stronger move or taking a straight out larger position because the setup appears juicier?

Also which have you found more productive, counter-trend longs or shorts? I've recently been focusing more on counter-trend longs because they seem to have more direct power off the pivot.
