CL Redux

Quote from austinp:

fwiw: so far today I've gone from +50 cents to +75 cents to +50 cents to +80 cents to +50 cents CL on too many turns. Violent sideways action as expected & noted premarket. When the CL moves sideways, it does so in spectacular fashion :)

fwiw, I finally had one live trade today, sh CL @ 76.81 (12:00pm), initial target half @ 76.63 and SOMEONE got lifted there but NOT ME! Ended up stopped out 76.80.

CM Control-Bar Price Study

Having spent the past four years dropping in & out of this forum, it occurs to me that most of my recent posts did exactly what I despise: no positive input for the silent majority of solid citizens here.

So let's start out in a different direction today. Above is a link to one of our price-action only measurement studies which helps identify key pivotal zones in any market. I personally use this on my filter(anchor) chart to anticipate pending S/R zones and confirm reversals or pullbacks as they happen... not after the fact.

This is a pure price action study, nothing else. Consider it free "snake oil" or pure gold, whatever you see of value to yourself. Works in all markets and timeframes because price is price, and that's what price action does.

Roughly 50min recorded video of a live HotComm presentation for 450+ registrants back in 2/08/10. Will post charts at times in this thread that help identify how the process unfolds.

Hope this helps :>)

Thanks austin for your input. I look forward to your contribution.

Nice video austinp - thanks for posting.

I do have one question if that's ok ... by definition, your p.o.c. bar is confirmed 5 bars into the future ("highest/lowest bar for 5 bars prior and 5 bars after"), and I believe a couple of the entries you discussed depended on anticipating confirmation of a potential p.o.c. bar (e.g., short being discussed around 23:00). My question then is what % of the time would one have to anticipate the expected H or L of the next 5 bars in order to have an edge with this method?

Please note - no skepticism intended, just trying to understand.

Thanks again.

crazy day, the market was tradeable all the way through from the 4pm sunday open. I made IB a lot of commissions today. I had some big gains that I killed by getting greedy with the profits and trying to trade every opening. Ended up 10 tics positive.

Tomawk, I was simply taking any with-trend pivot point or reversal signal pivot point and using the control bar strategy and killed it in my sim account today.

Then I realized I should be trading live and I chased ES horribly a little while ago sh @ 48 (1:14pm bar) trying to catch some final momentum (talk about being pissed I missed a move) and took off 3 @ 45.75 and the other 2 b/e. lol

Wish I'd just stuck with the CB stuff and traded live all day!

Never mind. For some reason, I got only blank screen on Chrome. Now that I read what others posted, I tried it on IE and it seems to be working fine.
