NoD have you found the 1-minute or the 3-minute to be more useful for entry setups on CL? .... TIA (Sorry if you posted this already, but I haven't read every page).

I sim traded CL every day for months before trading it live. If I can't produce something green after all that, I should be fired. :p

Two things that helped me the most: be patient and don't be afraid to miss moves (the second mouse gets the cheese); cut the losers quickly.
 
As I recall the price action before the inventories is always tedious like this. I doubt I'll trade until afterward.



(OK, I should've known a comment like that would be a short signal...)

That's depressing to read!
I've both sim traded and live traded for YEARS everyday, and im not consistently profitable, hence back on Sim!!

You picked pretty much the exact top and bottom so far today.
Made about 60 pips profit? Coulda made more, but we dont all have crystal balls and know before hand how big the move will be (except Sal, of course! :))

I have seen you mention the 20 ema before: do you use it as a trigger as well? If so, how many bars do you wait before you feel it confirms a direction either way, whether it breaks the line or bounces off it?
