CL Redux

Quote from EON Kid:

It was never meant to be easy, but do keep telling yourself that. I’m sure its just what your subconscious needs.
What I find so hard to take is that CL moves in synch with ES and other stock indices. Can I ever get away from ES for once?

Just play the direction of the trend. Im assuming that you are short bias? I burned a stupid amount of money in the past 2weeks trying to play the short side. So im playing the long side now. I don't agree that its going up but riding with it is better than swimming upstream.

I believe that's an optical illusion. The brain looking for patterns if you wish. Print a week of charts for both and put them side by side, after that you'll never think correlation again. Fwiw.

For example: Look at this afternoon ES breakout vs. CL flat.

Maybe some periods correlate more, but all in all probably a 50-50 thing.

So I always do some basic TA on the ES for example, to see if anything lines up. A rising tide lifts all boats :D

For me its about accumulation of small edge's

That's because CL pit was already closed when ES broke out. But consider the two instruments up til the time CL closed at 2:30 EST. I'll post a chart in a moment.

Right now CL is dumping while ES is near the highs...

You'll see what you'll want to see, but really unbiased is probably 50-50 all in all or very near, maybe 0.6 correlation coefficient. I'm sure some reader statistician can calculate it for a year or so of data. Academic discussion I think.
